The Value Case for ‘Digital First’

A document that explores what the potential benefits of a greater digital uptake would be and outlines what’s holding us back from fully embracing digital in the Aotearoa New Zealand construction sector.

The Value Case for ‘Digital First’
– Appendices

Appendix 1 - Case Studies

Aotearoa New Zealand’s ‘digital first’ strategy for the built environment sector can benefit from case studies undertaken both internationally and nationally. Knowledge can be leveraged practically and pragmatically to chart a path to success that is right for the local construction and infrastructure industry. Lessons can be learned from the United Kingdom, Australia, and Scandinavia as listed Appendix 1 in no particular order. Local lessons from New Zealand are also included.

Appendix 2 - Roadmap

The Roadmap framework has several dimensions – x-axis for timeframes, y-axis for thematic environments, arcing horizons for organisation size, and symbols for projects and initiatives. These are explained in this section, with the combined layers shown in the single diagram.

Appendix 3 - Roadmap RACI Table

This appendix identifies the roles of different organisations in the digital ecosystem - Reference Value Case Section Three Roadmap Roles and Responsibilities.

This Digital Guidance Suite Value Case is produced by The Construction Sector Accord as the funding body, BIMinNZ Steering Group as the subject matter experts and NZ Institute of Building as the project manager.
